Clementi Fortepiano 1808
Housed in the J. Paul Leonard Library at San Francisco State University is a Clementi Fortepiano, built in Muzio Clementi’s London factory in 1808. A fortepiano (AKA pianoforte) is the precursor to the modern grand piano, having a tone in between a harpsichord and a modern piano due to the brass strings.
For an extensive list of features, see our Features Page
Note: The Clementi Fortepiano was recorded with only Close1, Close2, and Mid perspectives and does not include all of the extensive mixing controls of the other pianos of the collection.
